Default Axle length issues...axles are too long, how to fix?

I'm pretty sure that the axles are about .5" too long (at least the drivers side). Details below on what it's actually doing and the situation. Is the problem being the shaft inside the joins hitting/binding there? I was thinking if I shave a 1/4 inch off of each side of that shaft to give me room, would this work? Reference the following pic...if I where to shave 1/4" off of the part on the outside of the tripod of bearings:

Details:
It vibrates on right turns during acceleration. It doesn't vibrate turning left, or deceleration/maintaining speed turning to the right. And the harder I accelerate, the worse it is (I came around a corner this morning hard testing the tires and it was BAD! The tires hooked very nicely but the vibration is crazy when I accelerated out of the corner!)

I did just swap the inner joint of the axle on the driver side and this vibration wasn't there (or at least not like this) before the swapping of the inner join (the shaft and outer join where not changed). The axle has just less than 1/4 inch of play in it (Place Racings instructions list minimum a .25" to a maximum of 1" of play only though I've seen these figures also range from .75" to 1.25"). I took apart the lower ball joint and lower shock fork in addition to removing the midshaft.
