SPRING COMPRESSOR FOR MY H&R SPRINGS PROBLEM!!!! HELP
I RENTED SOME SPRING COMPRESSORS FROM AUTOZONE. I CANT REMOVE THE HINGES FROM MY SPRINGS WITH OUT SCAPING THE HELL OUT OF THE COILS!! SINCE THE SPRING ARE FULLY COMPRESSED[THE FRONT TO ARE THE BIG PROBLEM] THERE'S NO ROOM BETWEEN THE COILS TO REMOVE THE CLAMPS OR HINGES WHATEVER THERE CALLED!!!
---I HAVE THE OEM SPORT SPRING WITH A 0.85 DROP
---I AM AWARE IF I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN SPRINGS WITH MORE OF A DROP I MIGHT NOT BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM!!!!!

How did you get the things on, and not be able to get them off? Are you trying to get them off while fully compressed? Can you post a pic?
You should be able to pry the coils apart a bit with a socket or something to give you some more room to get them out. How much the spring drops your car shouldn't have anything to do with it.

To prevend major scraping, as well as make it easier, I suggest another method.
Take the entire shock/spring combo off together. Next step is to take the nut off and let it shoot the spring into a box (bro did it once - it was fun), or use better spring compressor like this. The one from autozone is a big cast POS. I had to pry & pound it in between my EF's OEM springs.
Since your main problem is gettin the tool out - I'd sugest doing one piece at a time. Take the large bolts out completely, then use a pry bar to take each out. You shouldn't worry about scrapes, since few people see spring, or care about the aestetics of them.

OR:
Get the pieces that hold the spring compressor to the part of the spring that is open more...I noticed - when I did the very same thing on mine - that the springs compress more at the bottom. So get the spring compressor closer to the top and you should be golden. BTW take your time and make sure you don't forget any of te pieces for the shock/spring assembly (haha)....
