I have heard rumours that Honda's 2003 Accord will not be like the 2002 model.
Any idea what is new for the 2003 Accord?

there have been a lot of pics posted here about the 2003 model...there are some guys on this board that work for honda...they should probably know...i need to know to cuz my girlfriend is gettin the V6 model and i need to know what im dealing with here..ya know...i heard it was gonna be a I-Vtec engine...is this true?
i've only seen concept ones, and they look WAYY different.
i hope it's not gonna look like it is.....but i do hear they come stock with built in roll cages for more safety.
also alot of info on it states that the v6 accord is going to produce 240-260 HP out of a 3.5L motor, doesn't sound like it's a vtec engine bing a 3.5L, but i could be wrong.

they are also talking about bringing the accord stationwagon back (yay
)
here's a pic of that:

yeah i think we've all seen those here b4...but im not sure about the white TRA...i mean we can all wish about it..but it aint gonna happen...and as for the stationwagon...it looks more like a Volvo..i know those are just concepts so hopefully those arent final....anyone have pics or a site of REAL cars?
most likely we'll have the 2 door and 4 door accord again, except the 2 door will be a prelude replacement. 2 engines will be offered(all rumors of course), a 2.4 liter I-VTEC motor pumping out 180 hp and a j-series 3.2-3.5 motor making more hp than the 240 hp altima. honda is back in the competition, i think.
All I know is the sedan and coupe will further differentiate from each other. By 2005 arent all vtec engines going to be replaced with i-vtec engines?
Here is my $.02
Sedan: It will be restyled obviously with a 170hp i-vtec 4cyl or optional v6, the 6 will be either 3.2 or 3.5 liters, im guessing 3.2 with 200-220hp.
Coupe: The "sportiest" accord yet. The styling will look even less like than the sedan. same 4cyl and v6 will be offered but with a manual tranny and possibly 240hp. This is the first time im hearing about a wagon. The Odyessy sells so well, there is a wait for one at the dealership i work at, i think the accord wagon would steal sales from it, much like the v6 accord coupe stole prelude sales, i would be very suprised if a wagon comes out especially since the Honda-built Pilot is coming out in '03 as well to replace the Passport.

Actually what iVTEC is is everythiong regular vtec was but unlike most honda engines where you buy an adjustable cam gear and advance or retard the cams using that the computer rotates the cam(s) on the fly. Here are some good articals about VTEC and iVTEC. http://asia.vtec.net/spfeature/vtecimpl/vtec1.html</a> (VTEC artical) <A HREF="http://asia.vtec.net/article/ivtec/index.html" TARGET="_blank">http://asia.vtec.net/article/ivtec/index.html (iVTEC artical)
Also from what I have heard is that honda wants every one of their vehicles to be powered by a iVTEC engine in all forms by the year 2005. That makes me wonder if the V6 will be a J series motor since iVTEC can only be implimented in DOHC form

Should be around then. Honda keeps tight lipped on most of their cars that come out. I heard the Euro edition accord is making a debut sometime inbetween may and july. Looks like we gotta wait a while guys
You can forget the Accord having anywhere near 260hp...unless Nissan marketing department brains invaded Honda Marketing department bodies. It will be more like 240, maybe 250. I think they quoted a Honda rep as follows: "The new Altima will have to have a lot more than 240hp to beat the new Accord." Of course, everthing I said could be off if the TL/CL J32 will have more than 260hp in the near future.
Also, the Prelude is being discontinued and the Accord coupe will be replacing it.
