Default will i break axles

Well i have a del sol with 300whp and at the track i got a 13.4 on 17s so i want to put slicks on so i can maybe hit 12s. For suspension i have skunk2 coilovers(not the drag launch set) and kyb agx 4 way adjustable shocks and i also have a full-race traction bar. Now the question is if i put slicks on do yall think i will break axles by putting on the slicks or do yall think i need some drag radials on 15 inch rims?

i think you should start with drag radials and preload when you are staging.

releasing the clutch very little till you feel its grabbing a bit and releasing at launch. Dont just drop the clutch.

I've broken a diff so far but no axles. Stock axles are fine when you don't absolutely punish the drivetrain during the launch. Don't know how I broke that diff. I must suck.

I ran GSR axels for along time before I got the big boy axels and they were great, I had civic axels and broke two sets, I believe the GSR's are sinificantly better.

I believe.

Nah I broke many stock diffs with my car but never any axles yet. Dont feel bad it was more or less the car... If the one wheel hooked on the other was spinning still it will destroy any open diff when you toss power at it. It wasnt made for it and cant be expected to.

If you have axles to handle the power, there's no need to preload? Or is it better to play it safe and do it anyway so you dont break the transmission?

preloading is a good idea regardless of whether you have bad boy axles...its saves a lot of strain on everything.

Cool, how do you know how much is enough preload??? Is it a good idea to ride with someone who knows what they're doing and learn that way?

Doesn't also make a diff at what RPM you launch too?
