Default Oil Flush

I have been running synthetic blend in my car forever now, but I was considering getting some synthetic because I hear good things. I mentioned this yo my friend and he said that I would have to flush the oil out completely before making the change. Is this something I can do in my backyard, or will I pretty much have to take it somewhere to get a flush?

There is no need to "flush" the oil. Commercially available fully synthetic oils are perfectly compatible with blends and conventional oils.

So anything then. Sorry if I sound retarded, I am still trying to learn some things. But if I wanted something more along the lines of Royal Purple or Greddy's new synthetic, I could just put that in with oil residue? That would be great.

the only thing you have to worry about it going from conventional to synthetic if your motor has a lot of miles. Your problems will be w/ leaks cause of the seals which had got the oil build up on it and dried, then w/ the synthetic the gunk begins to remove and you get leaks.
