Alternative place to buy AUTO-RX? ( crankcase cleaner like seafoam )
I was reading through the http://www.bobistheoilguy.com forums about seafoam and many of the members recommended Auto-Rx instead (mostly because it is not solvent based like seafoam is). Auto-Rx looks like it does the job quite well so I would like to give it a shot.
The only place I could find that sells Auto-Rx is from their website. http://www.auto-rx.com/
Is there any other places that sell it?
I would ask on the http://www.bobistheoilguy.com but I am not a member and I do not feel like joining just to make one post.

^^ is correct. It is not sold over the counter. Internet sales only from the manufacturer.
The 97 Civic I bought last fall with 150,000 on it was a bit ugly in this department, and appeared to have a stuck oil ring on #4. I've run two good oil changes thru it with Shell Rotella T, and it is starting to clean up and I might have freed up the ring. I got it for a song and was going to rebuild the engine this summer, but I am almost there. That said, I just put my 8 oz of Auto Rx in on Monday... to see if I can fully free the ring, and bring it all the way back...
I researched it, and pulled the patents on it before I bought it. The patents make sense, and as you said, bobistheoilguy.com is a pretty rigorous board. Snake oil does not last a day there...

Have you looked under your valve cover before you started the treatment? Just to get an idea of what kind of oil build up you had before you started the treatment.
My Tacoma has some build up from not getting regular oil changes by the previous owner. That is the reson why I am looking into this.
When you get done with the cycle could you post the results here.

Yep I should have taken pictures of the valve train with the head off. Now it will be subjective.
Your problem was mine. It appeared the previous owner neglected timely oil changes.
I'll be glad to give my impression when we are done. But it may take a while. Most folks say the treatment with AutoRX starts to break down the goop/sludge. It is really the next cycle with good dino oil (and a lot of them recommend RotellaT for the rinse cycle) that starts to get things cleaned up. That will be about 5000 miles away, which will be a couple of/3 months for me.
