They're not too bad, hardest part is probably getting them out of the hub. Just takes a lot of hammering. You have to separate the lower balljoint, knock the axle of the hub, then pull it out of the tranny.
Really pretty easy.
Really pretty easy.
a word of advice, pop out the axle with a pry bar before removing from ball joint or hub. sometimes when you start moving the axle around in different directions without popping it out first the c clip gets jammed and doesn't want to come out.
when putting back in put like a hose clamp around the c-pin and then hammer in a little bit then take the clamp off then put it in the rest of the way...trust me i didn't do that on the first time i did that and i didn't get it in and messed it all up....and had to get a new c pin....and yea wasn't cool....trust me it works alot better when you do that

hardest part IMO - getting the lower balljoin apart without destroying it!
Just crack the 32mm axle nuts loose.. remove
Jack up car, remove wheel.
Loose lower balljoint.. remove, various methods.
If the axle is stuck in the hub, may require some elbow grease.. IE - BFH.
use a small prybar and pop the axles out of the tranny..
Remove axles..
Install reverse...
Toruqe axle nuts to 130ft/lbs w/new nuts, then Lock them.
Use new cotter pin in balljoint
Well under car, do oil change and tranny fluid change.

On all the axle installs i've done, I've NEVER had a problem getting them in. ONce i forgot to put the c-clip on since the reman didnt come with it, but i saw it wasnt staying, so that was an easy fix too.
Hardest thing i've encountered is getting the driverside axle off the intermediate shaft...no room to pry. Just put a pry bar up next to it and hammer with all you've got and that ******'ll pop off eventually.
EDIT-I see its a civic, not sure if those have intermediate shafts.

None of that. Those are the Axle Assemblies. The Lower ball joint connects to the LCA.

Im not a D series expert.. But heres my take.
D series.. dont use intermediate shafts.. so no equal lenght axles. B series use shafts.
