Ls Vtec High compression can't feel Vtec is this true? Help look!
Ok here is my situation; I was running a stock LS block on a stock gsr head with a p72 ECU. I felt the Vtec kicked in around 4200 rpms, but now I have rebuilt the block and head with pr3 pistons and type r cams alot more power but I can't feel the vtec anymore; I was told by a buddy because I am high compression like a turbo car I can't feel the vtec but everything is wired up is this true with high compression? any inputs or personal experience let me know!
High Compression and turbo...that doesn't happen.
You can't feel VTEC...hmmm you do know that the VTEC cars are generally higher compression don't you?

What I meant was a turbo car has a lower compression but my freind told me my car is a like a turbo/ supercharge car now cause it pulls hard but I can't feel the vtec just like turbo or supercharge cars...my compression right now is about 11:9 according to C-speed calculating compression... I know gsr and itr have a higher compression but when I had my orginal ls vtec build my compressin was about 10:5 now i am 11:9
Break your posts into sentences.
I've been in few LS/Vs that you can't tell the changover to VTEC in.

Can you at least hear it? I've never heard or seen this before, I've been in a B20VTEC I could hear and feel the crossover. Never been in a LSVTEC though...

Hahahaha for sure that's a good thing.

your problem is tuning, your p72 will not do the job. It happened to me, I have a gsr motor with pr3 pistons and type-R cams. My stock ecu made it slower, but I got a P73 ecu and it pulls great now.

he has the answer. You need to tune it.

dropping in bigger cams and pistons, you need to adjust a plethora of things.. ie: fuel curves, valve lash, make sure your timing is on point and a/f mixture. my suggestion, get a hondata unit and get that sucker tuned. also, did you bother to change the water pump and oil pump along with the belt?
