Default Gearing opinions: 4.77 or 4.57? Help me decide.

Gears are going to be my next investment. Anyone have any opinions on the 4.57s or the 4.77s? I would like to have first hand experience. What are some likes and dislikes you have? Thanks.

Little more info like, "my car will be a weekend/track car" "it'll be a daily driver" etc would help.

Just get 5.1 You'll get a kick out of the 4.77s.

I wanted 5.1's but would be hitting the rev limiter in 6th on a couple tracks. Just doesn't work for me

4.57 since your not track qualified, and the accel mph/ft is about the same as the 4.77

//Both ratios are sweet...

Considering that most people say the 4.57 & 4.77 have about the same Accel.

Get the 4.77, that way you have a higher topend still.\

*edit*

Instead, Sell your S & BUY MY TEG!!!

The 4.57 would give a higher top end.

By only a couple of miles per hour right?

Does anyone think the 4.10s have any advantage over the 4.77s? Besides highway RPMs etc.

4.10 is stock. Hope you weren't planning to buy it.

4.57 works better for boost rather than the 4.77 for a SC right?

Correct me if im wrong but the 4.77 is ment for track purposes, for holding out your gear longer much higher revs etc..

/He still hasnt told us if hes boosting his S.

4.77's aren't just meant for track purposes. On some tracks 4.77's will actually hurt you. In these rare cases, the 4.56 would be better. A local HC racer has 3 different diffs and gears depending on which track he will be running. He has the 4.77, 4.4, and 4.1's

Actually 4.77 would give you shorter gears vs. the 4.57s, meaning a lower speed at the same RPM.
