Default Timeslip for the RSX-S

ok,..heres the deal,..went to the track,..and DAMN was it busy,.only got to run 2 times,..first time i got to run ever in my RSX-S I held it @ 4k and dropped(no feather),..and got a shitty start but reaction was 0.945(shitty to me,wasn't paying attention to lights just holding rpms,..staged real quick) but....anyways I got 15.3 @ 90mph,..I swear I can reach 15.1 or 15.0 w/ more runs,...first time in the TYPE-S so I was still learning to launch!

I will run again while I'm still stock to try to get 15.0,..but not sure,...not that dissapointed,...cuz engine mods will come soon!!! espically in August,..the Supercharger will be released

by the way,..you don't wanna know the second run,..I dropped @ like 6500 or 7000(wheel spin and hop like a *****) and it was pretty terrible and I missed 4th!so we'll leave that one alone!

Well,...for one- the track i was running @ wasn't the best in the world,.I will go to Rockingham soon and get a better run,...BUT,....my friends RSX-S ran a 15.2 w/ 18" wheels one time,.not the night that I was out there but @ a different track! SO,..When I learn the car more,.I will hit a 15.1. hopefully a 15.0 I guess I would almost have to gain like 2-3 mph to make it like 93mph to hit it!!! But a better launch will help!

God I hate it when 3rd gen Integra owners think they are the ****! Why must you put down 4th Gen Integras? Does it make you feel big or something?

like wise for the RSX Type S owners, IMO. the cars seem to perform almost exactly alike from what i've seen (believeable), so neither is really better than the other.

People with 3rd gen integras continue to down the RSX. As a prevoius owner of an 97 LS, I can tell you that my base RSX is much quicker and is smoother throught out the whole powerband. My brother who owns a 96 GSR w/ I/H/E and some other mods can only beat me by a 1/2 car length. Sometimes I can even beat him when he has a bad launch. They are both excellent cars yet very different. If you like something like has more room and is a bit more refined go for the RSX. However, I feel the type-r is still one bad mo fo of a car. Outhandles the RSX by far. I think it is odd that many people on this board show disrespect for such a good car. The integra is and will always be a good car, but Acura had to change the dated style and make it more refined. I believe they accomplished it.

IMO, the RSX is more in the vein of the old prelude. Where the Integra was a bit of spitshine on a rawer car the RSX is a polished glossy car, like i saw the 5th gen Prelude as. But thats just me. its not a BAD car by any means, but just dosen't seem to fit the Integra lineage. Not like my opion matters anyway.

If you think, stock for stock the GSR is equal to the RSX Type-S. Then I really don't know what else you need to hear from people. Not only has it been proven in realtime and in magazines, over and over again, the Type-S will destroy the GSR on performance. There are many other factors in deciding on a car though, and I still think that edge goes to the type-s. For me, the heated seats, gunmetal rims, heated mirrors, momo stereo wheels, recaro seats, and steller interior are even bigger sellers.

Either this discussion turns back into a timeslip discussion NOW, or the RSX forum rules will come into effect.

I'm pretty sure you can hit 14's. If this is the first time you ran the car then when you get used to it and the engine gets a little loose you'll drop a few thenths of your timeslip. Guaranted.

proof? (and not some magazine times) Thats all i ask. And my local RSX-S owners seem scared to race my GSR. They're confident in the car's superiority untill it comes down to it. And they won't run at the track either. I hear rumors of the RSX-S running these fabulos times and how much better it is than the GSRs, yet i ran the same near-stock. And when i point that out i get flamed.

There are many other factors in deciding on a car though, and I still think that edge goes to the type-s. For me, the heated seats, gunmetal rims, heated mirrors, momo stereo wheels, recaro seats, and steller interior are even bigger sellers.
Guess you lost your assurance that the -S was so much better performance-wise and went back to non-performance aspects. I won't even start with you on this because its unrelated to the issue at hand.

PS Sorry about breaking forum rules, but i'm tired of people telling me my car sucks here. If it's so inferoir, I wonder why I ran times (and MPH) so close to the mighty Type S.

look man, i'm in no way trying to diss your car or anyone elses...but are you gonna tell me that a 170hp gs-r is going to run the same times as a 200hp type-s...granted the type-s weights and extra 100lbs or so, but it also gained some torque to help it pull along that weight...i have yet to see a gs-r run a 14.6 with just a cold air intake...it won't happen...now just cause the type-s owners in your area are scarred to run a gs-r doesn't mean we all are...

And i've yet to see an RSX-S run that. What MPH? What was the rest of the timeslip? I keep seeing the 14.6 toted everywhere, but never any other info. To be believeable, i'd like to see the rest. I'm not saying its not possible, but I don't know where it came from, so its not the most credible, IMO.

And i see posts from other RSX-S owners that are runing low 15s w/ 90 MPH traps.

you have yet to see one run that...damn the drivers in your area must suck...oh and my 14.6 was @94 mph...and that was with a 2.316 60ft...if you want the rest of the info just let me know...i'm in no way trying to get into a dick measuring contest with you i'm just letting you know where MY car stands as far as comparing it to a gs-r...and just because you see a mojority of the rsx owners in the low 15's doesn't mean it pertains to all rsx drivers...

Hey guys lets take it easy....Nacho I can understand what you are saying. My best friend had a gsr and I loved that car...Its a very well built car....He had H/I/E and a skunk 2 intake manifold and he pulled a 14.5....so that is the best gsr time NA I have seen....I my self have a RSX-S and with a CAI I pulled a 14.5 at englishtown in NJ....SO I know its safe to say the rsx-s is faster than a gsr...I would compare it to a type-r....as for the drivers of the rsx's pulling bad times ....That is true because type-r drivers are very famous for that...I have yet to lose to one....better yet the closest one i ran hit a 14.9 when I hit my 14.5.....So lets just relax take it easy and help each other rather than bash each other....

Cool man. If you ran it, thats even better. It always seems like "well, this one guy on ______.com told us he ran a 14.6, so there." 94 MPH is an full MPH better than my best trap (14.895 @ 93.1 and 14.866 @ 92.6), so nice.

Guess the car just needs a good driver to pull the good times out of it. (and we seem to lack those in my area)

sorry if i came across as being hostile or what ever, i was just trying to get my point across to ya... now the 14.6 that i ran was just with my CAI, but that was my best time...i also ran everywhere in between a 14.6 and a 14.9...i'm not the best driver in the world, but i have some experience...i just added some more goodies to my ride and need to take it back to the track to see how i fair...well my apoligies if i offended anyone...

Here's some timeslip info from a race between a Type S and me(on the right)...

R/T ... .519_____1.098
60' ... 2.402______2.404
330 ... 6.621_____6.480
1/8 ... 10.024_____9.796
MPH ... 73.83_____74.61
1000 ... 12.958_____12.639
1/4 ... 15.41_____15.05
MPH ... 91.14_____93.12

Keep in mind this is my first time at a track with my car(you could probably guess that by my R/t and 60' and I had crappy 13" rims with the cheapest stock tires. The RSX was stock I think, maybe an Intake I think I heard someone say. I raced him numerous times, the only time he beat me was when I missed third gear twice and he only beat me by .02 seconds. It was probably about 75-80 degrees outside and sunny.
