Shifting really really hard, bent linkage ??
My GSR's shifting has gotten really really hard recently. My exhaust broke and bent at one point and im thinking it may have bent up and bent the linkage. Is there anything else that would cause this other than bent linkage ?? It still goes into gear realy smooth, but just moving the actual shifter is very hard.
Yeah, i looked at it but didnt see any unusual bends. I guess the only way i could rule out the linkage is to disconnect it, and try to move the shifter fork with my hand, and if it has the same resistance as my other gsr tranny then it is the linkage. if it has more resistance, than it is something inside the tranny.
what about where the shifter is too, anything around it bent?
I can go take a pic of the linkage, I have an extra one thats off right now.

I figured it out, somehow the bolt that holds the shifter to the linkage tightened up. All I had to do was loosen it and now it shifts like butter!
