So I have a 2000 Civic CX. It has a 97 spec OBD2a ITR motor swap. My stock ignitor went out twice on me so I bought a brand new distributor on Ebay from Distributor King.
I installed everything in about 5 minutes, no problems. A few days later, I got a check engine light after driving for about 10 minutes, but everything still runs great. It comes on now everytime I drive it, though after a little while. My stock dizzy was a TD86U model, and the replacement is TD84U. Is this the reason? I'm running on a chipped P28 ecu, btw (OBD1) I obviously didn't run a code or diagnostic on it, so I'm hoping someone can lead me in the right direction with this problem. Did I simply receive the wrong distributor???? The listing showed that the ITR dizzy was the same whether it was and 86U or an 84U.
I would really appreciate and worthwhile advice/info! Thanx!!!
