Timing belt/water pump and AC questions PLEASE Help!
Hey guys, I really need some help on this one.
This is for my girlfriend's 97 CRV with 113k miles.
I just changed the water pump, timing belt, and accessory belts. took a lot longer since i couldnt get the crank pulley bolt off right away, and now I'm stuck with a new problem.
The AC compressor clutch is screeching like nasty when it kicks in and when it starts up cold. But once the car is warmed up the screeching goes away. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I mean like right after changing the belts.
At first I thought it was belt squeal, but i found out right away that it only happened when the AC clutch kicked in.
I did drive the car for 5 miles or so before the screeching started, now its there all the time when the ac is on. I just find it hard to believe in that 5 miles the ac clutch took a dump.
what is the lifespan of the AC clutch materials anyway?
She does use the AC rather often though, so its not entirely out of the question.

tried it both loose and tight. the sound is definitely the clutch.

fixed it. crv's have different tension point requirements than integras. i had to use a 1/2" drive breaker bar to tighten the ps pump, the a/c belt has a stud that tightens down, and the alternator belt needs a pry bar or long screwdriver to give it tension.
