When i drive my car hard and to red line through the gears i get a burning smell coming from the engine bay, the only thing i can think of that might be causing this is the valve cover has been painted, and there a small amount of oil on the valve cover that's now been cleaned up. does anyone have any other ideas as to what it is. ( i used high temp dupli color valve cover paint and i cant find any burn marks)

 

check your piston rings maybe? might be leaking oil under that stress somewhere.
