4 cylinder accord tranny prob.. please help
the car suddenly popped out a check engine light and the transmission has trouble getting into gear, like its stuck in first gear or second gear and won't go into the correct gear. I think its just a tranny ecu or connection problem, but the shop says i need a new rebuilt tranny. I dont agree with them because transmissions just don't go bad suddenly like this, do they? This happened suddenly by the way. Anybody with any insight, please help. thanks
Thats sucks!!!!!! Tell you what I know. I worked on a 99 Dodge Avenger it had the same problem as yours. We had to replace a trans. sensor (there were 2) that are bolted up in the front of the tranny.
The Avenger would get stuck in gears, stay in 1st, wouldnt switch to the drive (check engine light popped up 2 as soon as it happened).
I would call your local dealer and ask parts department if there are any trans. sensors on the tranny. The shop will tell you anything to make money, you did right dont listen to them. Get on line, do your research, fix it. Go back to them and tell them that they are bunch of mo-mos (retards).
Let us know.
