What happends if theres no oil?
hi, my "friend" has a d16y8 and he forgot to put oil on hes car, he blew the motor...
anybody know whats wrong with the motor? what needs to be fixed? what might be broken?
anyways anybody know how much it would cost to rebuild the motor? or if its best if he just buys another one?

i had just looked into doing a rebuild on the D16y8 was unpracticle... dont even bother looking into that option....
i opted to just go buy a new engine.... figured if im putting a few grand into a rebuild i might aswell just buy a new engine.... atleast then my money accomplished something.... get a nice B series... B16 or B18

Its fine...throw some antifreeze in there, it will unsieze allt he bearings and everything, then wash the antifreeze out with some water, and change your oil 2x.

I honestly have never heard that antifreeze or tranny fluid could uncease and engine. I am tempted to try it on an old lawnmower or something. Cool.
