88-91 DX to SiR Wiring Conversion
Follow these instructions to install the conversion harness.
1. Install the converted harness on the engine. Some plugs are similar, to reduce confusion here
are the color codes of the wires with similar connectors and where the connect.
Orange single wire to knock sensor
Red/Yellow and Green/White wires to TA sensor
Blue/Yellow and Black/Yellow wires to EACV
Blue/Black and Black wires VTEC oil pressure
Red/White and Green/white wires to TW sensor
2. Take the new harness and feed it through the passenger of the firewall where the current
harness is. Be careful not to damage the exposed ECU pins Bring the end with the connector
up to the shock tower at the same place as the other engine harness connectors.
3. You will need to remove the white retaining clips that hold the wires you will be adding. Using
the Honda pin removal tool (part no. 07JAZ-002010A) take the wire from B2 and move it to
B19. Use this diagram determine the wire positions. To orient the plugs properly when using
this diagram hold the plug with the wires pointing away and the clip on top. The A plug is clear
and the B plug is larger of the two black plugs.
A plug B plug
C plug
4. Using the color code information below, plug the wires from the NEW Hasport passenger’s
side harness into their appropriate places in the ECU connectors. Any wires that are removed
to make room for the conversion harness wires must be insulated to insure that they cannot
short out.
Yellow 18 gauge wire to A3 Orange 20 gauge wire to B10
Red 18 gauge wire to A7 White 20 gauge wire to B12
Green/Yellow 18 gauge to A8 Blue/Black 20 gauge to B5
White/Red 18 gauge wire to C8

The pics of the plugs didn't come out there. Basically looking at your ECU, the pin numbers in each plug are 1 on top right, 2 on bottom right, 3 on next one top right, 4 on next one bottom right, and so on. A plug is the one with 18 pins, B plug has 20 pins, and C plug has 16 pins. You can get the "swap how to guide" CD on Ebay for 5 or 10 bucks that's what I did and it's been a great source of info for me. Good luck.
