I was wondering if there was anyone out there that has put an electric cutout on their s2000. The reason I ask is because with my prelude I love having the versitility of having quiet and loud exhaust at the push of a button, so if anyone has some insight, let me know, thanks.
but if you are not too concerned with sound its not a bad way to go. personally i would rather have a stock exhaust note 99% of the time, and then have an obnoxious sounding exhaust when it comes time to kick ***. however, dont do this unless the car is capable of kicking ***, other wise you are just making a bunch of noise for no reason and you will only embarass yopurself and the rest of us as well.
running an open dump shortly after the header can provide some additional scavenging which will result in extra power. however this depends on a number of factors such as the shape of the front bumber, underbody, the way the exhaust opening is cut, etc.

Thats exactly how I am, 99% I love the quiet sound, but sometimes I would like the open exhaust sound, I just wouldnt want it to hurt my performance.

well it will sound like *** when its opened but if you set up the ecutout right it should give you som power. really though, it sounds terrible. just make sure that the performance gains are worth it

while we are on the topic i should add that on the endyn forums a long time ago Larry suggested a way to make a quiet and good flowing exhaust. he said that you can take some piping (we'll use 3 inch for our example) and make a full three inch exhaust all of the way back. take a piece of pvc pipe with the same inner diameter as your 3 inch exhaust pipe and then make a shroud for it out of the next largest diameter piping. so you are basically making a muffler that uses pvc pipe as the means of silencing the exhuast. the trick is to take a dremel tool and make dimples in the inside of the pvc pipe a couple of inches apart all around the inside. the end result will look like an inside out golfball. these dimples will supposedlty cancel the sound and it will be like driving a car wirth a good muffler but without hurting the airflow. i cant say that it actually works, but i can say that if someone from endyn says something its usually safe to believe.
my friend has it on his sti. i only really see it benfiting a car with boost. it is so loud though on his car i like it but most peolpe get scared and think they are being shot at when driven hard it is kind of funny
