lude vs. teg
i am going to the dealership saturday to catherdral city to buy either a integra or prelude and dont know what either to buy i want something to dragrace and to beat this integra in town thats beating everyone he only has i/h/e but planing to buy other things so you think if i get a prelude and put i/h/e do you think i would beat him ???? is the prelude(5gen) faster than the integra gsr(97) ? should i buy the lude or the teg?
if i were u, id get a 98+ gsr..
So lemme get this straight. You're going out to buy a car just to beat this Integra around your town? Hmm....go get a car because you need one or you like one.
The GSR will be a little more fun on the streets and the twisties.
The Lude will be a little more luxurious plus you have the added torque.
Both are good cars....if it were me, I'd get the Integra (GSR)
EDIT: This so called fast Integra around your town only has i/h/e and he's beating everyone? Looks like most people in your town can't drive. What kind of Teg is it? LS? GSR? Type R? A run of the mill stock 97+ Prelude should beat it without any mods unless it's a Type R.

Get GS-R and mod it with some Aftermarket Cams, Intake Manifold and a VAFC. That should get you to beat the other Integ with just I/H/E. Should beat a Prelude also pretty easily...
I hope you keep it on the track. Most areas have street drag nights (or days) at the local track.
If both you and the Teg are such hotshots, then challenge him at the track line, but please keep it off the streets. As a former firefighter/EMT I've seen some messed up people in stupid wrecks. Many of the injured were not even involved in the racing.
Post your time sheets after the runs...
Good Luck

get an integra. the aftermarket support is probably the best(along with the civic), it pretty much all comes down to how much money you are willing to spend, how good the tuner you will use is, and how good of a driver you are. If you have a decent amount of money to spend on aftermarket mods, have a good tuner, and can properly launch/shift, you will put him to shame. I have driven in prelude SH's and older model SI(vtec) and i will tell you first hand, nothing beats the feel of revving up past 8000k...(alot higher w/ appropriate mods)...the GSR is the way to go.
1.- this is the Integra forum therefore people will say get a GSR
2.- I owned a 97 lude. The lude is faster and handles better than the teg stock vs stock.
3.- The teg has more aftermarket
4.- buy what makes YOU happy

for the price of the lude, you can turbocharge your integra and make it look sweet. ludes arent all that. i rather go with an integ. more mods... more sporty... less drama... and its cheaper!

We all have differnet cars with the people that I chill with and seriously Not to bash on them, i love my car the best. One of my friends(girl) just bought a 02 lude and i raced her at the track and pissed all over her. She ran a 15.8. I ran a 15.2 and I look better racing anyways
. But for real, get teh teg, 98+. Thats just my 2 cents. And when you do, beat the **** outta the kid thats beating everyone.

your friend (girl) either can't drive worth a **** or she has an auto lude. That time of 15.8 looks like from an auto lude. 5 spped ludes should run low 15's stock. Please state ALL the facts.
Also, for those that do not know, a GSR and base lude cost about the same.
Again, I owned BOTH cars and I would take the lude over the GSR anyday.

Preludes are harder to launch say the owners. Tq + heavy car + FWD = bad. Personally, i've never lost to one in a drag race, but thats just me. I did get beat by one (.230 seconds) @ the last auto-X though. Final run....i was winning till then.
ANYWAY, Personally, i prefer the Integra simply because its more of a rough, tossable car. The preludes are a little TOO nice IMO, and i probably wouldn't race/beat on it like i do my GSR. However, on paper, the Prelude is faster, but its honestly close enough that it'll come down to driver skill/error in most all cases.

I would get a '94 - '97 GS-R(ones with the orange in the taillights). Since it is OBD1, it will probably be a little faster than the '98 - '01 (OBD2). But that is still an argument to this day, wether the OBD1 or 2 gains more horsepower from bolt-on's and other mods.

GSR ownz.. i would take a 98+ GSR over a Lude anyday... Like the others say.. if your loooking for more "comfy" and "classy lookin" then get the Lude.. but nothing beats a nice b18 reving high and owning that heavy pos Lude.. >
... not that i wouldnt take a Lude.. i would rather have a 98+ GSR however :D

I believe 95 was the last year of OBD1 for the integras. Anyways, highway racing my LS will hang even w/ a base lude.

Take this into consideration. Two times my stock Integra GSR 2001 has beat my brothers 1998 Prelude with AEM CAI and shock and suspensions set up. Here are both our comments about our races.
RACE 1:
STOCK GSR- We were both at a stop light. Light turns green and I rev to about 3000 rpms and take off. We were pretty much neck to neck except I had him a little the whole way. We stopped at about 70 or so.
Prelude- Yo Yo Yo actual that was a pretty good race. We started on a hill and I raced pretty hard. and he may have beat me by a 1/2 of a car length. I've decided to stop racing him hard ever since i beat him out in the boon docks. Oh BTW I'll whip his a$$ when throw on my mugen exhaust at the end on may...
So there you have it like it's been said many times it's the driver.

my cousin has a lude and he eats **** up on the highways i dunno how an LS keeps up. ne ways ludes are much harder to launch and to drive because they are much heavier than an integ. go with what you want dont listn to anyone else.
the prelude definitely "feels" faster.. overall the lude is a much better car than the integra.. better fit and finish, more torquey, more comfy, better build quality, better handling stock to stock, you get the point.. but for a commuter car, the GSR does its job just fine.. for me anyway (not to mention i've beaten my share of G5 ludes)
the G4 lude on the other hand..

Funny, cuz my GS-R "FEELS" faster than my friend's 5th Gen lude. Integra's should FEEL faster than a Lude because it revs much higher and is much louder. Ruffer ride too. So if anything FEELS faster, it should be the Integ...
