i want a lude cuase they are nice and not alot of peeps have them and i could go with a nice set up like aem cai, dc 4-1 heads, tanabe exhuast and a apexi vtec controller, and some cams. what else is good? for really bottom end and draging?

Fifth gen lude will take a gsr on any day. That's as long as it is a five speed and has a competent driver.

i don't think there's a 4-1 header for the H22 from DC. you problem wouldn't want it anyway. a fair number of people are putting down around 180-185whp with i/h/e pulleys, vafc, type-s cams. that's good for mid 14s. to get much faster than that, you're talking about a lot of money for either an n/a buildup or FI. bottom line? it's a 2.2l motor in a 3000lb car. you're not going to be ripping up the drag strip, but it's got some punch, handles very well (esp the SH) and is built like a rock compared to the tegs i've owned and driven.
the SH may handle well...but heavier...if you want a nice lude, try to find a 4th gen, if you have to have 5th, just get the base model, less weight.
i don't know about that. it seems to be an equal race if both drivers are upto the challenge.
top end is all prelude but 1/4 miles seem to be even.
i've seen a few i/h/e gsr's run high 14's all day long. anywhere from 14.7-14.9 so i'd say that's a good match up with a 5th gen. lude.
let's also not forget that street racing isn't about the numbers. .1-.2 really doesn't mean anything on the streets.

4th gen vtec - 2932lb
5th gen base - 2954lb
5th gen sh - 3042lb
so tired of people yakking about how much "lighter" the 4th gen vtec is. it weighs the same as a 5th gen base. the sh is slightly heavier, but of that 88lb, only 1/2 is the ATTS unit; the rest is the spoiler, wheels, slightly different suspension bits, etc. 50 pounds ain't gonna make a difference in a race. a half tank of gas weighs more.
i'm not even sure where they get those numbers though, i weighed my lude at a certified scale and it weighed less than that!

Sounds like me. 14.8 with I/H/E - I've seen a WHOLE bunch of Stock Preludes or slightly modd'd ones not even break into 14's. So 5th Gen Ludes and GS-R's are very close at the 1/4 miles runs. I'd say the Integ is much easier to mod also.
But on the freeway (110+mph), the Prelude with its Extra HP and Torque should help pull away...
Get the Prelude. If you're a good driver, you're beable to beat him..I beat my friends 2000 GSR and he had I/H and all I had was an intake. I kicked his *** after 3rd gear, cause thats when I started pulling and kept going.....

my friend down at the track has a 94 vtec lude, only has exhaust and intake...dyno'd 164 at the wheels....he ran 14.6 on a slippery track the other day
i was impressed

Get the Integra. The Prelude is much heavier and therefore definatly hurts it. But... my friend's lude with bolt ons has no problems putting a hurting on ITRs. If you are talking about the 1/4 mile, just get a GSR and slap a T3/T4 Revhard kit on it... run 7psi on stock internals and OWN him. It would be cheaper than a lude anyway most likely. And DC ONLY makes a 4-2-1 for the 5th Gen Lude.
I have 2000 Lude Base and I walked a ITR last summer with Mugen exhaust and open air box. I had onle a Greddy exhaust and a AEM...short shifter too and Skunk springs but that was it. ITRs are made out to be "gods" but they aren't all that quick. They will get you in the turns but on the flat out drag, a competent driver in a 5th gen Lude can get a GSR and beyond...
