Hardtop Question. Already searched.
When you put a hardtop on, what happens to the softtop?
Is it removed or just stuck in the down position?
If it is removed, has anyone took out the Motor for it? How much weight did you lose?

I forgot to mention that the mugen hardtop weighs 44 pounds and so i saved about 20 pounds. The OEM hardtop is noticeably heavier.

And I always had trouble believing the OEM top was slightly heavier than the carbon mugen when it felt a lot heavier.
Don't pull out your soft-top and the motors unless you don't plan on every putting it back on. It's a pain in the *** that I'll have to deal with soon, the re-installation of the soft top.

Is there anything necessary to prepare the plastic windows on the ap1 for this? Just seems like having it folded down for a long period of time would be bad for it.

I was wondering the same thing. if the soft top is folded down for extended periods of time, does it get permanently creased? or is it more prone to cracking? I plan on getting a hardtop after the summer, but I was concerned as to how the softtop/rearwindow will be after folded down for such a long period of time...

It takes 10 seconds if you have a friend to help you. If you have the mugen carbon top, 15 seconds and you can do it yourself.
