Default SI tranny into an STD.

hey guys, i just bought a tranny form a 91 EX, and i wanted to put it in my bonestock StD hatch so i can finally have a 5th gear, but i read somewhere that the 2 trannys use different sized axles? so do i need to get new axles, and hubs to make this work? any help is appreciated.

Heres how it works

If you keep stock hubs....
Just bolt in transmission and call it a day

If you change hubs....
Change hubs
Change axles
Bolt in transmission and call it a day

If the hubs are retained the axles are the same

The transmission is a direct swap. You reuse your STD axles.
