hey guys alright before i hear any flaming, i've already checked several h-t forums and came up empty handed...
i bought the complete wings west rs polyurethane kit from healtoe a few months back ago and it's been chillin in the garage. im plannin on setting up the crx for road racing. exterior wise, the stock front/rear bumpers and side skirts arnt in the greatest of shape and theres no side moldings on the car.
my question goes out to all the wwrs owners, how many road race with the kit? is it worth putting on for road racing. i know its a lil hefty in weight but it'll compensate for a completely gutted crx.

let me know guys

If you are planning on getting in a series you better check the rules. I have personally never seen any RR car with a ridiculous body kit on it. I think your premise for this is off base, and you should reconsider you decision to put this on a RR car.
Also if you come over the curbing you are going to tear that crap to pieces. From experience and what I have seen it would be best to leave it off. If you are serious about RR you need to keep your car in stock form.

If it is Urathane then they can take a beating, unlike fiberglass it will just bend if it gets hit, not shatter. Its going to add weight to your car over stock bumpers though "FYI"

theres a crx with the wwrs kit thats sponsored by jhpusa. theres also two crx's sponsored by ALANIZ that run in the Honda Challange with the wwrs kit and one was H.C. points leader for some time.

i can varify that it is urathane
thats probably one reason why i dicided to get the kit since its far less likely to crack unlike the fiberglass counterparts.
i am serious about rr but then again this will be my daily driven get-me-to-school/work-car but also my weekend warrior.

the only thing a body kit will do for u when road racing is slow you down, and um can you explain why there is a wing on the back of the crx in that last picture? hence you want to road race.... the point of racing hondas is to keep them light while putting out 200+ hp, body kits will just ADD weight, look gay (in my opinion) and slow you down. and if you are lowered enough to the ground as it is, its gonna get ripped apart to **** from running **** over on the ground, hitting curbs, debree on the road like rocks and such.... hell, once i ran over a pop can in the road that was facing upright and i guess my car didnt clear it cuz when i got home it was kinda hanging there right in front of the plastic piece covering the oil pan and ****.

thats true to a point. im not exactly sure if the wings west kit ever seen a wind tunnel so i cant really defend nor attack the claim that their aerodynamicly functional. theres a handful of performance tuner shops that run a spoiler on there crx to plant the rear wheels to the ground to maximaze full tire grip. j's racing is one, its also been aerodynamically tuned in a wind tunnel to provide downforce.

im not saying that im going to go out there and buy a $1,000+ spoiler, well not with my budget atleast
my general discription for my current setup for rr is as followed...
94 gsr bottem end
95 b16 head
b16 tranny w/ lsd
ITR intake mani
this isnt the ideal setup for rr. reasons being is that a semi-built single cam can do just as well as a gsr. and plus the added weight of a b series. it all depends on the driver. i know in rr its 80% driver 20% car but after a year with a singel cam, i need more power

um... why would you need the rear wheels to have maximum tire grip when there is no power being transfered to them? all the rears do is go with the flow, the front axles is what is getting all the power, especially with that lsd, u no longer have a 1 wheel wonder.
and ya, i dont really see anything "aerodynamic" about a body kit. but then again, what do i know about hondas, mine is running 17's.

Mugen is known worldwide for their creative design, functional aerodynamics, and their knowledge in overall Honda tuning.
Hirotoshi Honda founded the Mugen company back on March 26, 1973. His father, Soichiro Honda was the founder of Honda Motors, and worked closely with the work his son and the company he wanted to begin.
Like Honda’s original purpose for automobiles and their performance, Mugen wanted to incorporate the same ideas into their modification, which means they do not encourage ignorant modifications, whereas it promotes proper outer decoration, air flow and vehicle control, and suspension as the priorities.

i already knew that m-tec body kits are all wind tunnel tested. what im not sure of is wings west kits wind tunnel tested as well?

i cannot give an answer without bsing you so i'll leave that open for someone else with an enginerring background to fill in that answer to why having the rear wheels planted to the ground is good for grip racing.
