Default What Project Car?

I am currently driving a 1994 Honda Prelude (H22) with simple bolt-on mods, intake, exhaust, etc.. I am looking to build a car that is streetable but capable of turning out good timeslips at the dragstrip, hopefully 11's and low 12's at least for starters.

These are the things most important to me about the project 1. Price 2. Peformance 3. Streetability 4. Complexity.

I've come up with five ideas, and a little information about them.

H22 Hatch
+ I'm familiar with the engine.
- I'm told they understeer on the street. (Not Sure If True)

K Series CRX
+ K Series Engine (Not sure whether K20A2, K24, or K24/K20A2 Frankenstein)
- Price for Engine and Unfamiliarity with engine

LS/VTEC Hatch or 2nd Gen Teg
+ B Series has been tried and proven

GSR Hatch or 2ng Gen Teg
+ B Series has been tried and proven

Now this one came from a friend who has one so his Opinion is biased

1G DSM AWD Turbo
+ Supposedly Very Strong Engine and Easy to Build Power
+ I Like AWD
- I don't know much at all about DSM's

These are my ideas. If anybody has done any of them, has an opinion, or another suggestion for a project (keep in mind price is a factor) car please reply.

i would go with either the LS/VTEC hatch or the GSR hatch. Both are great motors and will give you lots of power. Im a single cam guy but my cousin is running LS/VTEC and that thing is a beast. lots of torque
