quick tire choice question
i broke my left tie rod and i just found out so now my front tires are almost dead
which tire's would you guys recommend for the front for daily driven use in texas for 205/50-15
i look for long lasting and very grippy street tires that will occasionally be taken to the track

If this is for your '96 Civic Sedan, I recommend the Kumho Ecsta SPT in 195/55-15, which is the best matching size for your car. $62/tire at the Tire Rack. Another excellent choice is the Yokohama ES100 in the same size for the same price. Both are grippy on dry pavement as well as in rain, and will last a reasonably long time.
However, if you are only replacing two tires, you really need to get the same tire as the other two, or something that performs very similarly. You don't want to have tires with dramatically different performance on one end of your car from the tires on the other end; doing otherwise could induce handling problems.

Yes. But rotate them periodically to even out the wear, so that they all wear out at the same time. (I keep the tires with more tread on the front on my FWD cars, for this reason.)
