Opinion: Should I take out the back seats in my civic for daily driving?
I want more than your vote, what other than the noise is the downfall?
Would the removal of the back seats make the car more of a target for theft?
I never get pulled over so I am not worried about police.

The only reason I can think of for removing my back seats is so I don't have to give a bunch of people rides!
i have a 4 door with no back seats, cuz i like the look
and if im goin somewhere with more than 1 other person i dont have to drive, heh
good deal all around, oh yeh and when i bought a motor and had to stick it in the back seat there was no seat so i didnt mess it up

Giving people rides isn't an issue........however, the loss of weight would help acceleration and MPG since the 60 mile one way commute I accelerate to top speed quickly and then maintain it for 59.7 miles.
dont bother man. there isnt much weight lose. like 5 pounds
and all the ppl i know that have no back seats have noisy *** cars.

I drive daily with mine out for these reasons 1. Dont have to worry about people riding with me. 2. It may save minimal weight, but every pound counts right... 3. Im an art major, so putting stuff in the back seat, well, would mess up the back seat, so its great for putting things back there. 3. I can see into my empty trunk...and make sure those people tied up arent trying to get out. 4. When I do go to the track, I would take them out anyway, so screw the hassel of taking them out every other weekend, I just leave them out. A couple downfalls may be the noise, but I dont mind it, in fact, I turn my radio down just so I can hear VTEC when it crosses over, during th cold weather the car gets colder quick when you turn the heat off because of cold air coming from the trunk, but really, that doesnt bother me either. And I catch hell about not having a back seat from lots of people, but I dont care, its my car I'll do with it what I want.

Who cares what others think. Every lbs does count! Also, I love the look of my gutted car. Another reason is, I Mountain Bike, and I save a couple hundred bucks by putting my bike in the back, instead of buying a rack.

i gutted the back of my 4 door integra... people thought i was crazy... it did get a bit loud but i liked it... my hatch now... its just about completely gutted... nothing i dont need is there anymore... i took out the sound deadening in the back and repainted it... as for the front... the dash is out now as u can see (i just took the second picture)... i took out the mat on the firewall... the a/c, heater vents and blower and im in the process of taking out the rest of the sound deadening... but im also not sure how long my car will be a street car... i would never do this is i wanted any sort of comfort
oh... and i do like the way it looks as well

How about you just try it and see how you like? For those that think it is noisy you are just a bunch of wusses.
The back seat, cargo carpet, cargo cover, spare tire cover, spare, jack, and the minimal set of tools Honda provides all add up to about 60lbs. in an EF hb. Now, if 100lbs is worth a tenth....

- cargo carpet, cargo cover, w/daul 12" subwoofer bandpass box and amp = 75lbs
- spare tire, spare tire cover, jack, and misc hand tools, and wires for stereo = 50lbs +
so it looks like i shaved over .5 of a second
How do you take out the sound deadning material the easiest? Its a bitch to take out.

I'm also interested in taking out my back seats....but I'm worried that it'll attract attention from cops/thieves. I guess tint might help.
How could taking your back seats out possibly attract theives?...There is nothing there to steal.... I don't think cops care either...
