Brake lights always ON
When I got home, brake lights remained lit even with the car ignition switch and park lights switch OFF.
It's dark outside so I will check tomorrow. Just disconnected the battery for tonight. Any ideas what to check first. Thanks.

If you can shift the car out of park without pushing the brake pedal it's probably your brake light switch. Located near the brake pedal arm. You may have to remove the steering column plate to see it (it's there somewhere). Good luck
Look above your brake pedal and check the brake light switch. If the plunger is contacting the pedal (pushed all the way in) then unplug the connector if the lights go off then you have a bad brake light switch.

that fuse is hot all the time.. just disconnect the fuse underhood fuse box for the brake /horn and lites should turn off,,
like people have said it could be a bad brake switch staying engaged all the time but also what i have seen many times is the little rubber stopper on top of brake pedal wears down and spmetimes falls off,, if so it will make the brake switch punger stick out as if you were pushing on the brakes,, get a flashlite and chk that rubber stopper before anything else , if worn or missing replace it and retry it ,,,
,, if it is ok, disconnect the brake switch if lite goes off you got your problem found
if it is the switch it is real easy to replace you need a 14mm open end wrench, to remove the holding nut ..

To check your brake light switch, hit the brake pedal see if your brake lights will come on. If they dont, that would be the problem.
Disconnecting the battery wont do much, its a circuit not a anykind of PCM. You cant erase the memory.
By the way doubt you have an anti-theft stereo unit. Vehicle is too old for that.
Let us know.
Later.

he said the brake lites are on all the time ,, it is pointless to hit the brakes .. if the switch is shorted closed brake lite will stay on wether he hits the brakes or not ..
the reason he disconnected the battery i think it is so the battery wont die because his lites will stay on all nite long

Accord-Pro hit it. It was the rubber plunger missing. I saw the rubber plunger on the floor in three pieces.
Sorry guys for the late follow up. Been busy with other cars. The accord was parked for a while until yesterday when I got the chance to play with it again.

You all rock! I had the same problem, and this hit it. I saw the plunger, pressed it in, and my assistant, nine year old son said, "The light is off, dad." I think I saw the pieces of the boot on the floorboard also. I am new to this board, and my Civic is all paid for and has 170K miles plus. I am sure I will be here again soon.
