A b18a1 also came out of the 92-93 non-vtec models. The only difference between the two is 92-93 tegs have 10 more hp, but I am not sure why. 90-91 have 130, while 92-93 have 140. However, both the engines have the same B18a1 code on them.
So does that mean he cant upgrade to a vtec head or anything? So what can he do?

you can put gsr, b16a, or type-r head and you will get LS-V, but with the money you can get cams, springs and pistons and raise the rev limit, may be even p&p your head at the same time.
There are plenty of mods available for that engine. If you are considering a ls/vtec, do some research before you jump to any decisions. I've seen some extremely strong ls/vtec's, and some **** weak ls/vtec's. It all depends on the quality of the parts and the person that puts it together... oh, and the machine shop you trust with your engine.
If you want to stay non-vtec, I've got a set of crower 62404 cams for sale... brand new. They will even come with stickers!

So with the GS we can put any of these: Put gsr, b16a, or type-r head on cool, what type of HP are we looking at? TIA
