what color is easier to maintain, CW or PY??
I am still undecided which color looks nicer for the R. I am leaning more towards PY though. Anyways, I wanted to know, which color is easier to maintain with regards to fade, seeing scratches, dents, looking clean, etc...I originally had a NHB GSR and although that color looks the best, it is a lot of work to maintain it. Also, you see every little scratch and imperfection in the paint on a black car, so im done with black. Is PY a pain to keep clean? are little scratches noticeable?
Thanks
Thanks
You wanna buy an R and your biggest problem is figuring out which color you want ?
If your buying an R you don't buy based on color, you buy based on condition/ mileage/ pray to god its been cared for.

I arrived to pick up my NHB R checkbook in hand to learn it was stripped at a private dealer. Wish I knew what # it was.

Lighter colors are easier to maintain than darker colors. PY is a fairly light color and tends to hide fading, scratches, etc., just like CW does. This is the first light color car I've owned, and one thing I've noticed (that I'm sure is also true of CW) is that, when waxing the car, it's more difficult to see which areas still need buffing off; to be sure, you have to look at reflections rather than the finish itself. On my other cars (Milano Red, etc) you could just look at the finish straight on.

id say CW is waaay easier to maintain..... it gets dirty a lot faster...
but if compared to PY... i think its easier.. I had a CW gsr, and didnt realy keep it in the garage.. and it still kept its shade of color for all that time...
with the PY itr i own now, I noticed some slight difference in color shades on the plastic peices (rear mirrors, door handle) compared to the metal body parts..
I hope i can bring it back out with a little buff.. (And maybe color match my front clip being picked up tommora!! XD )
but.. I feel that if a py ITR was to sit too long in the sun... you will have a canary yellow itr in the end
to conclude... py needs a garage all da time IMO -->even at work

Both CW and PY are easier to keep clean and looking good in comparison to NBP or FBP.
But man when the black is freshly washed and waxed, it's just a fuggin thing of beauty.

I did.
I did.
Mine sits in the sun alot and yes, the yellow fades bad. I also would say CW is easier to "maintain". I have the detailers at work clean my car and they have to put stuff on it to bring back the yellow every time. I also wash it myself once a week.

My PY hasn't been properly washed in about a month.
In the driveway, from the kitchen window it looks clean.
No use in washing it with all these showers, and pollen, sap & crap sticking to it every day.
I think CW and PY both will end up oxidizing if left out in the sun for too long with no protection. It's just that you can get away with less frequent washes with a lighter color.

Thanks man, but I already know what I need to look for to buy a car. However, whats the point of buying a car in good condition if you dont like the color?

looks like its just a metter of opinion about whats needed to keep up the colors. However, some have mentioned about fading for the PY and some disagreed. Im worried about this now lol

Patience is a virtue. Sounds like buyers' remorse.
CW>any color

you wont see the color once your driving the car...
everyone asks me why i wanted a yellow car.. i tell them it wasnt my first choice in color.. but honestly.. i like it now. the ONLY bad thing about it.. is that there is ALWAYS at least 1 bee on my car... lol
