I have them, but these are the only tires I've had on the car so I can't compare them to anything...

i would highly recommand you to get Kumho ECSTA MX. They do have a downside of wearing out faster than supras, but from my personal experience, ADVAN 032 was the best tires and MX was the second best ive ever had.

Kumho MX

Only ever tried the Azenis 215 and Yokohama ES100s and I can say I love the ES100's for daily driving.

ziex suppose to be good in wet weather... all there good for especially with their treadware. I'd say the kumho's will be a less improvement in the rain.

I used to run them, they were okay street tires, not bad on wet pavement, but nothing special. Yokohama AVS ES100's were better cheap street tires. BFG KDW2's cost a bit more, but they are great street tires, especially on wet pavement. I'm currently running Falken Azenis RT-615's, and they are better than any of my previous tires, also great on wet pavement.

I also run the MXs and love them. However yes they do run out fairly quickly. They handle well in the rain but I am not speeding around on them so I suppose it would depend on your driving style.

I have run several sets of Khumo ecsta supra 712's in the past years...

For the price IMO they are a great tire....but they do wear pretty quick.

The Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 is a terrible choice. The Tire Rack tested it against the similarly-priced Yokohama ES100 and the ES100 beat it in all 23 out of the 23 characteristics tested. This makes it a no-brainer: DO NOT BUY THE KUMHO 712.

The Kumho Ecsta SPT and Yokohama AVS ES100 offer similar performance and both are MUCH better than the 712. Both offer very good dry traction, excellent wet traction, and reasonably long treadlife, all at a bargain price. Both the Kumho SPT and the Yokohama ES100 are excellent choices, assuming that you don't need to use any of these tires on snow (since they are not all-season tires).

As for all the other choices people mentioned...

The Ziex ZE-512 you're using now doesn't have very good traction because it's an all-season tire. The SPT and ES100 will easily out-perform any all-season tire, on dry pavement and on wet pavement, except in snow. All-season tires are compromise tires - okay in snow but not as good as winter tires, and okay in warmer weather but not as good as summer tires like the SPT or ES100.

The Kumho Ecsta MX is their top-of-the-line summer tire. It's even better than the SPT or ES100 on dry pavement, but it's also significantly more expensive. (The Yokohama A032R which was mentioned in passing is a track tire, so it is not a good choice just for street driving.)

The Bridgestone S-03 is a very expensive, very good summer tire which is being discontinued.

The Toyo T1-R is similar to the SPT and ES100 in performance but costs significantly more money. Not recommended, unless you need the 195/50-15 (that one size is on sale at onlinetires.com at a decent price).

The BFG KDW2 also has performance similar to the SPT and ES100 but costs a LOT more money. Not worth it.

The Falken Azenis RT-615 is a specialty tire, very grippy on dry pavement so it's good for those who autocross as well as street driving. However, it's only so-so on wet pavement, and it wears extremely rapidly. Plus it's more expensive than the SPT and ES100.

512 ziex is little bit better than the old 712 touring kumho, they are decent oem replacement but that's about it.

712 is good street tires, they overheat and loose grip fast if you track the car.
the are cheap and have more thread life than 512, which wear out faster than it should.

I just ordered some SPT for my s2k's daily wheel, hopefully they are better than supra 712. They got pretty good review around, and i picked spt over bf goodwich g-force sport.

someone mentioned before, MX is better tires than 711 712 es100 and spt
