i have a ls in my crx and im pretty happy with it , but i have never been in a b16 crx . From what ive read stock vs stock they have about the same times in the quarter mile. the ls crx will be faster untill the tiop end and then the b16 will catch up so it evens out .

It all depends on what your going to use the car for , drag racing auto cross , or just to cruise around in . The ls will have its advantages for auto x gettin you out of the turns fast and for shorter sprints . do you plan on turboing or na from what ive read ls do really well turboed , all motor setups can range from 150 to 180 with any of these or all : p30 or p73 i think pistons crower 403 or 404 cams spings and retainers . then you could use a b16 transmission with the ls which will help out alot . ls engines parts well atleast the cams are cheaper . i dont really pay attention to to many b16 setups so if you look around you can see what it takes to get similar numbers and compare . Like i said its pretty much person peference on what you can afford and what your going to use the car for . goodluck

i would get a b20 for almost the same price.
it would be the fastest of the 3 and you could always go b16 head later on down the road.

i have done this a few times in the past. its a great way to go

I'm curious as to why most recommend the b16? I'm thinking about a swap down the road and would like to get more info as well. Thanks..

I've had both the B16 and the Ls, and would choose the Ls any day of the week. Both were boosted the minute i got them, so never had any stock experience with either of them.

b16 would prolly give you more of a smile, revving it all the way up there and getting to hear that nice vtec sound would be worth it.

but i went ls hah. cheaper and well cheaper

I would go with the LS...but i am biased. I have owned both and will NEVER EVER own another b16....for any reason. If, for some odd reason, you have to have vtec then i would go ls/vtec.

The wee16 isnt all that its made out to be. The lack of tq is the main reason that i hate it. Daily driving is muh better with the LS thanks to the more useable tq.

yeah i can rev my weed eater to about 15,000 rpm also
but the first sign of high grass bogs it down. rpm is nice but its no replacement for torque.

dont listen to your girlfriend she is just trying to be nice to you
SIZE DOES MATTER!!!

get the b20, install it asap, go destroy some 99-00 civic si's, come back on here and thank me.. in that order
