Hi guys i just got a free d15b motor with a blown block and was wondering if the head would fit my d15b8 cx motor??? i know its not really worth much power but im guessing anythings better than the 70 or so hp on mine lol... if its possible would it be the same as the basic mini me swap...and what ecu would i run??? thanks for anything guys...

 

Way too much work for the amount of power you are going to make. Or you could just slap the head on just like that and yea it would run. You could try it and see how it goes.

swapping on a different head is whats commonly referred to as a mini-me. search the archives, tons of threads on the topic, lots of DIY guides too

while it would/should be better than the stock b8 you have now, i dont know how much better it would be. there were several models of d15b, i wouldnt expect the vtec-e model to be the best for power. generally vtec-e is better from an efficiency standpoint, but usually lack the power some of their standard vtec counterparts have.

if you want to do the build by all means go ahead, it will be a great learnign experience, though we cant promise you tons of power out of it.
