Default Looking for a new dash wiring harness, will this work

I am looking for a new dash/interior wiring harness because I am trying to get rid of the stupid alarm that came with the car. The wiring is all shoddy and looks like pure @ss. Will this harness work? Or will I need a whole interior/chassis harness? I am replacing the wiring in a 91 Hf.

Usually the alarm splices into the ignition switch harness and that is not what you are tryiny to buy on Ebay. I can't imagine why you would need that harness, yours should not be hacked into unless somebody before you was REALLY stupid. There are a few other wires that get spliced depending on your alarm but really it should not be hard to cut and resolder the ones on your OE harness if they are hacked a bit.

I guess he also tried hooking up remote start on a 5-speed manual. There are about 30 extra wires running around under my dash and I would like to just get rid of all of them at one time.

Holy shitbiscuits man. That is intense! I like the 3-way green and white electrical tape splice action on there. I think the ignition harness is what you want though.

IF I could take it someone I would, but the car isn't inspected yet, but it has tags.

I am gonna see what I can do about the wires, see if I can't salvage them.

I see that it goes to the ignition harness, but where else does the alarm hook up, all those wires have to go somewhere. I know some connect to my blinkers so that they blink when you lock the doors and the blink for like 20 seconds when you open the driver's door.

Yeah I think you're gonna want to salvage a lot of the wires. Get yourself some heatshrink tubing, wire strippers/cutters, and a soldering iron/solder (under $50 for all that) and start ripping that bitch out.

Atleast I have the wire cutters and soldering iron and solder. What is the best place to get lots of shrink tubing? lol.

I also have alot of zip ties to snip.

Heatshrink can be kind of a bitch to find, depending on where you live. In my area I found some at an electrical store and it was a total ripoff. Then I found this dinky little hobbiest electronic store that had big long sticks of all different diameters for super cheap (like $2 for a 4-5 foot long piece). I would say look for that type of a store or like a hobby shop, but stay away from radio shack - they suck ***** and will only be able to sell you a gay little bag of assorted short heatshrink pieces . Another thing I have found is that the heatshrink that is sort of a matte finish and is fairly flexible tends to be MUCH better than the shiny, stiffer kind (the **** that radio shack sells).

Lol, good call homey. I could get it sorted out but man what a mess!!! I too would try to get a new ignition switch but I would only use the backing since it does detach, the rest of the wires could probably just be ripped out to then resolder the ones that were spliced. Once you start removing the crap it will look alot easier to deal with . Sometimes when ignition switches are replaced the backing gets left over and if you hit up the right honda shop you may score one The honda shop I used to work for had extras just laying around, so try that out and you may get lucky.

Well I went through and cut all the wires out for the alarm and it looks alot cleaner, I will take a pic or two later. I am also cleaning up some of the other wiring, redoing the wiring for my fan switch and rear wiper. Such fun stuff. I had a full walmart bag of wires, zipties, tape and other junk.

Ya, looking at your pictures from the wire colors it seems like ALL those messy wires were aftermarket. I'm sure now that you removed them all it looks a lot better and easier to figure out.

My harness looked 10x worse then that when got the car..I dont know what these guys think when they hook up the alarm like that..But it was a simple fix,,just rip out all the alarm bullshit and connect the matching wires,,solder, heatshrink, tape everything together and loom and its cool..

I took my whole dash out so I had room to work with..
