Default 99/00 Civic SI instrument cluster in 96-98 Civics

Has anyone used a 99/00 Civic SI instrument cluster in any of the 96-98 Civics (either EX,LX, HX, or DX)?
If you have, is the wiring/plugs the same?-A direct "plug-in" application (while having FULL functionality)?

anyone with firsthand experience???

TIA

ANY 6th gen civic cluster will work in ANY 6th gen civic simply via plug and play.

this includes
96-00:
CX
DX
LX
EX
GX
Si
Type R
Type R base
VTi
VTi-R
EL
Ri
SiR
SiR II
SE

even the CRV cluster works in ANY 6th gen civic with absolutely no wiring modifications.

they will all read correctly. all honda send the same vss, etc signals, its up the cluster on how that is interpreted. so even if you stick lets say a 90 accord cluster in your car...it will read off the correct rpms, speed, temp, gas.
