I would imagine it would be some where around 15.8 if its bone stock...meaning the car as well.

My friend actually has a 98 ex coupe. He bought an eg hatch with a OBD-0 B16A, we will be putting it in very soon in his coupe. Very illegal swap but oh well

Oh, and the b16 has CTR cams and skunk2 intake manifold.

cuz the JDM motors don't have some of the emissions equipment that USDM cars require. Also, since your ECU is JDM I'm assuming, it won't communicate with the OBD2 USDM computer.

In CA, you cannot install an engine in a car that is older than the car itself.

Wrong again. Learn the specifics of the law. I have explained this about 10 million times on here.

I'm only at about 2 million, so I'll take this one. The motor can be older than the car, but must be certified to the year of the car or newer, meaning it needs all the emissions equipment of the car's year or newer. Plus on top of that you have the JDM to USDM emissions conversion. good luck . Shoulda just got another b16a2...

i have a pretty stock 2nd gen b16a w/lsd and an intake and exhaust in my 98 hatch. i just recently took it to LACR and i hit 16 flat, calculated, with a gutted interior, shitty *** tires, bad axles, and a pretty bad reaction time.

you should just take it to the track and see for yourself.

Calculated? Huh? Bad axles aren't going to be an issue either unless they snap. I ran many times on "bad" axles until I snapped it on the line. Still held up to countless 13.8's in my old setup. Reaction also has nothing to do with your time. Time starts when you leave. For gutted interior, those times are horrible!

I see, I see.

To the OP, my guesstimated time would be mid 15s

yea.. calculated. times at one of our l tracks, LACR, are higher because of the change in elevation. and i was just telling him exactly what was wrong with car at the time i took it. and yea i'll admit my times weren't that great, i just got the swap a week earlier and I was still getting used to driving the car. but all excuses aside.. i was in the low16's - high 15's.

You said you ran a 16.0, then you say high 15's. Which is it?

If you want to play the "getting used to the car" game, I ran 15.8 in a 100% 99 Si 3 days off the showroom floor. That includes the stock tires as well.

i ran 15.032 in indiana...which i dono what that is for elevation..no backseats and no spare tire...it was a 98 DX ....which would be the heaviest.....of the years...

B16a2 with i/h/e...R ecu....just the basics on falken ziex too

i thought it was a good time...slipping clutch too...plus it was hot....

so....16.0 is horrible but anyway....i would imagine 15.5's or so in a coupe stock for stock...
