neuspeed is also a good one. it comes with it's own bushings so your shifts will feel cleaner.

It's easy to do. I spent $40 on my short throw and would never spend much more than that. Had it for almost a year and it works and feels great. Go to Overboost.com and do a search, they show how to install one on there.

DEFINETLY get a skunk2 short shifter. Install took about 10 minutes. Definetly a little shorter than stock GSR throws, and I love it! I got mine at http://www.jdmhondaparts.com for $112 including shipping which wasn't bad. Any questions let me know......

I vouch for the DC sport short shifter, it's absolute ****, mine just gave out a couple days ago, and it feels likes its in neutral all the time, even when in gear. I jacked my car up yesterday to have a look, yeah it's done.. Im looking at getting a neuspeed shifter.

I've heard mixed opinions about short shifters. I've heard that they can mess up the syncros in your tranny if you're not careful. Is there any truth to this? What is a good shift for a g2 teg? I was thinking of either cutting my stock shifter..which actually doesn't make it a true short-shifter because it does nothing to the lenght between the shifter linkage and the ball joint(pivot point). I've heard the skunk2's are good and neuspeed ones are good too. any suggestions?

I have a DC in mine but haven't had any problems with it breaking or failing on me yet. What has failed on other's cars? The bushings? Now I'm getting a bit nervous about mine.

cutting the shifter does not make it a short shifter! the pivot ball on a true short shifter is higher on the shiter so that it can reduce the throws but not shorten the shifter drastically, so your still able to reach down without having a far reach.

a short shifter DOES NOT DAMAGE SYNCHROS driver error is the only way synchros can be damaged, who ever told you that is a MORON!

I did this on my old car and had it like that for a few years. Then finally I got a used shifter assembly from a junkyard and cut/welded the shifter into a true short shifter (for a 1989 Camry, nobody makes short shifters for those cars). The difference was amazing. There's no possible way to get throws like this (in my Integra) by just cutting the lever:

Just get the shifter bushing and save some cash. gives a nice tight feel and you can slam into gear. Granted I dont have a short shifter but love my shifters feel with bushings. Just my .02

Well looks like I will be the first. I use a B&M edge short shifter. Its solid steel. No way you are gonna break it. It shortens shifts and feels great. All for about $45!! Cant beat that.

I put a DC Sports short shifter on my 00 Civic Si. It broke after a couple months. I wasn't even racing when it broke.. I was downshifting to 2nd to turn into my friend's driveway and the shift **** came off in my hand. The short shifter broke just below the threads where the shift **** screws on. But I have to give DC Sports credit, I called them and they told me to ship the broken one back and they would replace it, and they did. They sent me a brand new one a week later. And that one still hasn't broke after about a year and a half of hard shifting and racing. And the throws feel great! Especially after adding an Energy Suspension shift stabilizer bushing kit.
