Default F1 Technology in Baseball

Louisville has a new bat with a composite interwoven with a metal for the shaft of the bat.

At least thats what it seems to be. i may be wrong, but the bat is still cool.

I wouldn't consider this F1 technology. This has been in many other applications such as golf. Shafts that are a hybrid steel/graphite or composite compounds for lower torque bonded by a very strong epoxy. F1 technology would be blending the 2 compounds together without using glue. **** that NASA hasn't even figured out yet.

I remember Ferrari trying to use a titanium/carbon gearbox in their 05 car I think, maybe the 04

At this point most if not all are using composite gearboxes. Really rediculous stuff.

These bonds/light alloys usually crack, I played baseball for 19years, and in college, and I've broken a few of these bats. Yes they are super light, and seam strong, but the longevity is not there, the walls are to thin for the abuse.

I've got a book that says they've tried different versions of the composite/titanium gearbox since like '94.

yeah, most of the expensive bats do.

Our baseball coach in high school would only let us use old bats when the weather was cold because cooler temps make the metal easier to crack.

I remeber one game the bat broke in half and the shaft went towards third.

cool stuff.

I remember an old TPX whiteshark breaking in half in 110+ temps.

And playing with ICE on the grass in Oregon lol. The bats DID not work. we switched to woodies and handled it.

aaaah baseball

it looks pretty decent but i dunno, i played baseball my whle life and only liked the TPX bats for little league when they had the power end. After that i went with Easton and never looked back. Well i tried the AirAttack2 and hated it, then tired the C555 and broke it in 5 places. I've dented every bat i've ever owned (i'm 240lbs) but the Eastons seemed to always have the best bats even after the walls close to the handle flattened out

I had the Easton redline, ******* sweat bat, but like sad earlier don't use these bats in cold conditions. Anyways it got a small crack at the very end of the barrel, 3 inches+, but lasted for like 2-3years. I've still got it, and use it for BP. By the way how in the hell did we begin talking about Baseball bats on honda-tech????????????? Yeah, the alloys are cool, but still????????
