TRANNY suggestions!!
okay, so.. i have a 1996 gsr and recently my 3rd gear went out.. my 4th is starting to grind and my 1st n 2nd are getting stickier by the day, i hurd from who i bought the car from that there is a "bad bushing" but word is that my synchros are going going gone.. so .. i was thinkin should i buy a LS tranny for like 150 or w.e. the going price is and throw that in there and get rid of the GSR tranny.. or should i get a type R tranny for bank.. or should i buy new synchros and install them my self cuz i dont wana pay no one to do it.. and how hard is it to do ur self.. open to suggestions.. also, should i juss buy the ls for now.. so i can work on the gsr one.. and after i fix it put it bak in and sell the ls again... also ne one have ratio difference''s between ls-gsr-type r tranny.. thanks fella's..

how does the flued level look? buy the ls tranny.. 150 is a steal..
and its not the syncros that acualy go out its the collers...
don't know the exact ratios but the gsr is slightly tighter than then the ls, so it doesn't fall out of vtec.. the type R is a close ratio with a lsd.. but that is about all i can tell ya... get the ls, build the gsr, put a fithgear elimanator, cryo treat the gears and throw 800whp at it...

i wouldn't go with an LS tranny, the gears are longer, final drive bigger, which equals slower acceleration. ur gsr is gonna feel lower, noticeably.
i would rebuild the tranny, but get a professional to do it. its not easy, and rebuilt by the right person that tranny will be like new.
