Skunk2 cams
with skunk2 stage1 cams where is there power band at, because im going to lower my vtec to 4400 with a new ecu? are my cams going to work ok with this or should i get a higher vtec point, oh and redline will be 8200.
8200?! im assuming this is on an Si motor?
i believe stock Si vtec is at 5500?!! correct me if im wrong. depending on ur mods, the lowest i'd set it to is like 5200. Dyno tuning is the sure way to find out tho

no i own a 98 gsr, and the program im refering to is the comptech ecu. because iver read somewhere that stock on a gsr is 4900, and i thought it was 5500, so thats why im asking

nope...vtec is 4400 on gsr...then secondaries at 5800 (tahts when u hear it)...w skunk2 cams get a valve train upgrade...and optimal vtec will probably be 4800-5200 around there
ok well i have skunk2 cams and i set mine at 5200. that was where my itr cams were dyno'd at when i had them. I know the skunk's are more aggressive, but im going to keep it there until i get on the dyno again.
BTW, I love these cams!

You don't need to upgrade your valvetrain with the stage 1 cams. Why are you going with stage 1 anyways? They're all the same price - go for stage 2 (which you WILL have to upgrade your valvetrain for). If you upgrade your valvetrain you'll be able to take it up to 9500 no problem. Which, in that case, I recommend you set your vtec point up higher than 5200. Only a day on the dyno will tell for sure though.
Some other things to consider:
Higher compression pistons
Headwork while you're getting the cams in
