If that's the correct VIN from the ad, then it's a real GSR. Look for the 'DC2' in the 4-6th digits. That's the easiest way to tell.
Also, those wheels were stock on the GSR in 1997, otherwise, look for the DOHC VTEC valve cover, the vtec solenoid, make sure the VIN number matches the motor, firewall, and dash placard. The redline will be at 8100 as you mentioned, in 5th gear at 80mph, the tach should show 4000rpm.
The integra pictured in the ad looks legit to me.

Nope, 97 had those 'LS mesh' wheels. 98-01 had blades.

The block code is located just to the left of the header, in that picture you posted, you see it up and to the left from the yellow radiator cap. That will say B18C1 if it's a USDM GSR motor. If it's a JDM motor, it will say B18C.

thats correct...the 97 gsr's came with the 98-01 LS mesh style wheels. Usually, you can tell the difference between a GSR and the other models by the interior, redline, 3rd brake light in the rear hatch, and a few other differences that you wouldn't notice unless you owned a gsr.

as someone already mentioned, if the VIN is correct, then its a gsr. for a gsr with 100k on it, thats a damn premium price though.
you can go to http://www.carfax.com/free for a free "odometer check" and it will come up with these records:

Yes it's a GSR. I bought mine new in 1997. It came with the mesh wheels, badge, and 3rd brake light in the wing. Leather was an option in 97 and all 97's came with a factory cd player. VIN seems to match up also. 8k seems a little high but if it's in VERY good shape then

Some one correct me if im wrong, but...
94-96 GSR's had the fat fives
98-01 had the blades
97 is the only year that the GSR only came with the same wheels as the LS also known at the LS mesh wheels.
I drive a 97 GSR, and it came with the LS mesh wheels from factory. Although I now have the fat fives on it!

Nope, you're almost right:
96 GSR did not have fat fives, it had the 7 spoke wheel that some people call 'turtles'. Most people who have them take off the center caps, but it's pretty much agreed that they were the ugliest of the 4 different GSR wheels.
Also, the GSR wheels were also available on the LS Special/GS counterparts for each year, except for the blades, only 98-01 GSRs got those. Also, in 97, the GSR had the 'LS mesh', but regular LS's did not have them, they still had hubcaps or the optional 'snowflake' 14 inch wheels.

Good call.
Doesnt the "turtle wheels" come on some later model (98-01) 4 door integras?

The 98 LS had the 14" snowflake rims. The 97 GSR, SE, and 99-01 LS/GS cars had the same 15" web design rims.
Did the 97 GSR have that style exhaust finisher? It looks like an LS pipe.
