Quick question about shock travel and coilovers! Rides smoother when slammed.
Ok i recently bought some ksports. They were feeling a little harsh. So i lowered the shock body into the fork all the way down for more shock travel. This ended up slamming my ride way to low, but i took it for a ride and it felt like i was driving on air compared too before. My quesion is how can i get more shock travel out of my coilover setup when its raised. Or am i just gonna have to deal with it being slammed to get the best ride qaulity. I know this might sound like a stupid question but i just want it to ride smooth like it was when I lower the shock body all the way down. I just cant deal with a car thats 2 1/2 inches off the ground other wise i would leave it. I always thought the lower you go the worse it gets but in my case thse smoother it gets. This is all with proper preloading.
Sorry bro, its all psychological. Coilovers with the 3 rings have a set travel disitance, usually near 2". And the benefit of these 3 ring systems, is they always have that 2" of travel, whether at stock height or slammed 3" down. You still get the same 2" of suspension travel and there is no way to increase that. The spring length does not change being lowered 1" or 3" for the same reasons above, the coilover always maintains that 2" of suspension travel they gave it when they made it.
Hmm good info. I know it was smoother im just trying to figure out why. Maybe it was riding better bc i left the back higher then the front. Im just trying to figure out why I couldnt feel those invisible bumps in the road anymore.
