Default Jegs cage thoughts? anyone have one?

hey im getting ready to add a little weight to my car now in the form of a cage. i found the jegs cages for my car(88HF) and the price just blew me away! 8 pt cage $150 you just can't beat that especally when "8, 10, and 12 point cages exceed NHRA and IHRA standards" so thats an added bonus.

i know its a piece together yourself kit, im not worried about that. but has anyone on here bought one of these before? how did it fit/how hard was it to make fit? how were the notches and other pipe ends? overall impression? thanks

edit: here is a link to the cage https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wc...emAdd

Hell for that price I'll be the guinea pig and order one of these within the next week after I get my paycheck. I'm gonna order a 4 point however cuz I have a kid and it would be a little diffcult getting him in there with an 8 pt. I'll let you guys know as soon as i get it shipped in with updates.

I read In an old thread that the Jegs cage is the most complete cage package and it fit perfectly in his 98 civic.

But I don't know from personal experience but with a big name like Jegs and the price I will be getting one from there real soon.

if you get one and its all in pieces, take all the measurements so that someone can put it into cad (me) and make a homemade copy.

if you had the tools and the ability to fabricate a cage off some copied measurements, why wouldnt you just build one yourself...

thats some pretty cheap price for just the pre bent and cut steel. good option if you only have a welder, and not a bender, notcher and saw.

for sure, i was gonna buy the tools to build my own cage(and get freaky with it ) but damn! a good bender is like $400, good notcher is another $300-500, then you still gotta buy the pipe! haha. maybe someday
