My tranny on my 97 CL 2.2 just bit the big one and is now slipping past 35mph and doesn't shift right at all. I forgot the engine code, but I think it's a F22b1 since it's a 2.2 sohc vtec.
Which auto transmissions are compatible with my motor? Could I pull an auto tranny from a 4th gen accord and install it in what is assentially a 5th gen accord? Does it matter if it comes from an LX, DX, OBDI, OBDII? TIA

theoretically, any tranny from an F22a or b, and f23a, h23a or h22a will bolt up like a glove. i think you want to stay with an OBDII tranny....i know jack **** about AT's, so im not sure how much the difference in the sensors and wiring, etc, between an OBD1 and 2

Wow, maybe I should convert to stick, lol. I remember when I did a tranny swap on a civic, one tranny that was of the same generation had a different speed sensor than the origanal one, simple fix, but I guess I should just stick with the same OBDII trannies.
Anyone else have the answer? P_Adams?

all the trannies since like 90 or 91 are electronically controlled and it makes no difference if it has a OBD or OBD2 TCU attached to it as they are pretty much all interchangeable from an electrical connection point of view(from trans to TCU).
