Default how much power will a d15 put out hooked up to an mpfi

just looking for a decent engine to put in my 91 crx si. found one with 86k on it out of a 90 dx. so it is the 1.5L. will hooking up the mpfi intake and droping it in my 91 si give it any more power or will it still be the wapping 68 horses that comes stock in the dx. any info would be great. thanks guys

Stock '90 D15B2 is 92hp. Stock '91 D16A6 is 108hp. An MPFI D15 would be somewhere in between.

A D15B1/2 with MPFI will be almost equivalent to a D15B7 in terms of power.

Do a Vtec d15 or a ZC. I think you'll be much happier.

hahaha yeah i am not looking for a racer out of this one, i have my other crx for that, this one i just need to be reliable, so i need opinions i have a chance to buy a d15b2 with tranny and 86k original miles for $350 is it worth it or should i keep looking for a cheaper d15 or d16 i dont really need the tranny, but he will not seporate and i guess i coule always use another good 5 speed dseries tranny sitting around, what do you guys think?

Do the mpfi swap, it will help alot, but a crx si cam or sohc non vtec zc cam is the icing on the cake. A shorter geared Si tranny will help to.

Si cam, Si intake manifold, 92-95 Si exhaust manifold (stock) and you will free up a good ammount of power, enough for you to not downshift, and all the parts are relatively cheap! Having a short geared Si tranny will help out too.

just said i heard something about it, hoods can be modified and the b20 has been around for a long time so it could have been an intake manifold off of the older b20

think those exhaust manifolds are factory headers. 4-2-1 or just 4-1 i dont know .. i also could be wrong.. i know b18s had the factory headers.

anyone can correct me if im wrong cuz i know i am.

It would stick so far out of the hood you would need a very very impressive cowl. This is why everyone running a B20 in anything NOT a CRV uses the B18B intake. Also, do you also fail to realize we are talking about a D-Series motor so no B-Series intakes will fit.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ludesrv &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">92-95 Si exhaust manifold (stock) </TD></TR></TABLE> I thought that the exhaust manifolds didn't come 4-2-1 until the D16Y8.

i believe you are refering to just the throttle body replacement

and all d-series stock exhaust manifolds are 4-2-1

my setup:
d15b2, mpfi swap, si cam, si trans.
pulls pretty good especialy in comparison to dpfi!
the d16z6 IM flows much better tho and I may upgrade to that...

Which battery is that?

Also. the z6 had a 4-2-1 header(which is what i have now), a6 and dx/hf (crx) had 4-1. the y8 had a 4-2-1 also.
