I personally have run the valvetrain for 2 years, never have had a problem.
They are very stiff. lots of 9,000 to 10,000 rpm pulls.

I just got mine from IB nice stuff but I was hoping the steel retainers would snap in tight into the springs to allow transfer of harmonics from spring to retainer to valve stem. The springs were interference fit which is good but the retainers should be also, there not. The rocket stuff I believe is done right with all the parts with a tight fit but I don't believe he offers the retainers in steel like IB. I like steel retainers for street use. Are you listening rocket. Dan

Hey Dan, I hear what you are saying about steel retainers but the snap fit titanium really works great. I recently took apart a head with RM gen 2 spring and retainers after a full season of hard use. Zero wear on the retainers.

"A full season" sounds like a racing app, street is a different animal. Also I like the lower cost of steel and good steel retainers will never wear out. For racing titanium is the way to go. Dan

I'm too used to my area, the northeast where snow is here for 5 months. It was a street motor. 7-8k miles.

David Sparling has been running the same set of RM retainers for 3 years. You will have to ask him what the mileage is. Rocket has mentioned that he is willing to make steel retainers, if people want them. Honestly though, I think you are trying to fix something that isn't broken

I am his customer. Also, I shared on H-T my quite negative experience with him.

BUT, I am not convinced or told by anybody that JGE valvetrain we are talking about here is junk... maybe it is junk maybe it is not. I am courious to find out.

not saying the jg valvetrain is junk, im saying that you don't know what you will get when buying from import builders, he get his parts from whoever sales them cheapest, so might be jg, might be some off brand junk, so if you want jg buy jg from jg don't support the ib junk

its relabeled whatever he can get good or bad so you might get a nice jg valve train or you might get some junk form some other shop depending on the deal he gets

oh god. those darker ones look like steel retainers. This is why masterbuilder hates IB with a passion.

hate to say it but masterbuilder is correct 100%

IB is relabled anything that they can get there hands on.

They should change there name to ANYTHING SPEC

anything they get there hands on is IBSPEC.

Hey masterbuilder why dont you get the same products masterbuilder spec??

one question ? if i bougth a JG vavletrain kit which IB just buys from and relabels( this was confirmed by my source) and called it IB spec cus someone said IB is the best would that be scamming.?
