i have a 91 civic , stock engine, i just replaced the rotor and the cap on the distributor because the rotor went bad and then the car quit, now i got it to run but the check engine light is on and whenever i go to shift at high rpm's it jerks or stuters and wont let me go any higher with acceleration until i push the clutch in and shift, it does this for every gear.......................any ideas anyone?

 

its called rev limiter.. otherwise i'd check if your dizzy is bad and then start ruleing things out as culprits in your ignition system
