Default Name that plug! If you got the brains give it a try!

Hey guys, Im looking at a Y8 motor and it has some sort of plug with about 3 wires coming out of it, on the driver side under the Intake Manifold right next to the belts, Its hidden away from view unless you look under the Intake manifold. What do you guys say? The belt next to it has seem to eaten away at the wire in there so Im wondering what it is?

Crank position senor? that harness goes up through the upper cover next to the alternator belt, mine was cut through before, but it only has two wires, and silver shielding. some mehcanic didn't put it all the way back in when he did the timing belt. so it hung out and the alternator belt cut through it and the car threw a CKP light (obviously)

The car im working on right now has a CODE 9, thats CYP code right? But you threw a CKP?

Are they the same thing? Crank position sensor? CYP stands Cylinder Position Sensor

And I thought the wiring was on the passenger side shock tower and nowhere near the driver side shock tower?

As far as I know there are only two wire harnesses near the belts on a d-series, one is the main harness coming off the driver strut tower and the other is the ckp sensor harness that runs up the timing belt cover. check the ckp harness to see if the wires inside of it have been chopped up, mine were, all I did was solder them back together, it was easy

P1381 Cylinder Position (CYP) Sensor Intermittent Interruption
P1382 Cylinder Position (CYP) Sensor No Signal

This is what im throwing, Does it have anything to do with the CPK your mentioning CCJUSTIN, Honda told me by rewiring the CPK wire that is being eaten, It will fix the problem?

Yea its gotta be the same thing, there is only one senor. Look down on the driver side, along the plastic timing belt cover, there is a black wire loom clipped to it. some where along the length of that you have a cut. probably near the alternator belt. Just split open the wire loom and fix the wires...if they're cut open tape them up, if they're cut in half, re-attach them. or have honda do the same thing for 250 bucks

sounds like something I should do I have no clue how you got in that little tiny space?? . . Also the codes that are being thrown from the ECU dont have anything to do with this right since one is Crank position sensor and the other is Cylinder position sensor

I got both hands and a soldering gun in there. this is what the manual says, it's the same thing, fix the wires then reset your ecu, (pull the 7.5amp back up fuse from the underhood fusebox for 15sec)

wait, I had a short in the Crank shaft fluctuation sensor harness, your sensor is in the distributor, thats a way different sensor, but if you can see the cut in the wire I guess its the same fix
