is it possible to run aftermarket cams on stock valves and springs?

i got a type r head all brand new valves and valve springs in it just out the machine shop. i was wondering if i could run a aftermarket cam with the stock stuff? also i dont plan on reving it that high i know its a stupid question but i need to know
Crower makes a cam you can run with ITR valvetrain. Also I think people say you can run stage 1 cams with stock valvetrain.
I would just run CTR cams though...

i just got the head from a friend and its just out of the machine shop 0 miles on it thats why i was asking. also i got p72 pistons im building a ls/vtec wut kind of compression should i have with a ls block p72 pistons with a type r head?
