front hub bearings....can the home mechanic change them?
Anyone ever replaced their front hub bearings? It says in the haynes manual to take them to a professional b/c its too much for a home mechanic to do. Can i safely do them at home or will i have to take the hubs somewhere? Is there a faq write-up?? Thanks for any help.
You'll need a hydraulic press for one, as well as knowing how to set it up and what to apply pressure to and what not to.
Most likely, an experienced shop is best for this sort of job.

Take the spindles off and take them to a shop and have them done. That is the best compromise. That is what I did.
