BUying an Accord how to check if the engine is legit !!!
Hi guys,
the engine in the accord is a acura 3.2 TL type S and i was wondering if with the serial number of the engine i could use carfax and found out !!!!
the serial number is clear on the engine.
I m waiting for your suggestions.
The guy doesn t have the invoice.

if engine was replaced the only way to verify is to get papers from the owner you are bying the car from ,, also maybe the shop where engine was replaced might keep receits. going to carfax and inputting the vin # will tell you nothing about the engine ..

before you buy the car ask the owner i it would be alright to get the police to run the vin number off the engine. if he seems apprehnsive about that it is probably stolen. I would not buy the car if you didnt know for sure because if later it winds up the motor is stolen you could be charged with accepting stolen goods and go to jail yourself
